Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains how payments, cancellations, and refunds work for MGS Link subscriptions. It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service.

Overview

MGS Link offers a free plan and paid subscription plans (Pro and Enterprise) billed monthly or yearly. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record for subscription purchases. Some refund rights depend on your location and are described below.

Try before you pay

Our Free plan is genuinely useful and exists so you can evaluate MGS Link with no payment and no card required. We strongly encourage testing core features — verification, role sync, announcements, and join/leave messages — on the Free plan before subscribing, since this is the best way to confirm the Service fits your server.

General policy

Subscriptions are billed in advance for the chosen period (monthly or yearly) and renew automatically unless cancelled. Because the Service is a digital subscription delivered immediately, payments are generally non-refundable, and we do not provide prorated refunds for the unused portion of a billing period, except:

  • where required by applicable consumer-protection law (see EU/UK cooling-off below);
  • in the specific situations listed under “When we do refund”; or
  • at our reasonable discretion as a goodwill gesture.

EU / UK statutory cooling-off

If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a purchase. However, for digital services this right is lost once performance has begun with your prior express consent and acknowledgement that you lose the right of withdrawal. By subscribing and immediately using a paid feature, you request that the Service begins at once and acknowledge this.

Where the cooling-off right still applies because you have not yet used the paid features, you may withdraw within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. Nothing in this policy limits non-waivable rights you have under the consumer law of your country.

When we do refund

We will issue a refund (full or partial, as appropriate) when:

  • Duplicate or accidental charge — you were charged more than once for the same period, or an obvious billing error occurred.
  • Failure to deliver — a paid feature was unavailable for a prolonged period due to a fault on our side and we could not resolve it within a reasonable time after you reported it.
  • Unauthorized charge — your payment method was used without authorization (subject to verification).
  • Statutory right — a refund is required under applicable law.

When we don't refund

Refunds are generally not available for:

  • Change of mind after using paid features for the period.
  • Forgetting to cancel before an automatic renewal.
  • Partial-period usage — if you cancel mid-cycle, you keep access until the period ends but are not refunded for unused days.
  • Issues caused by Discord, Roblox, or other third-party platforms outside our control (e.g. their API outages or rule changes).
  • Account or server suspension/termination due to violation of our Terms of Service.

Cancelling a plan

You can cancel at any time from the dashboard’s Billing page. Cancellation stops the next renewal; your plan stays active until the end of the current paid period and then reverts to Free. Cancelling does not by itself trigger a refund of the current period.

How to request a refund

To request a refund, contact us with:

  • the email or account used for the purchase,
  • the approximate date and amount of the charge,
  • the Discord server (guild) ID the subscription applies to, and
  • a short description of the reason.

Email billing@mgslink.lol within 30 days of the charge. Because Paddle is the merchant of record, some requests may be handled directly through Paddle’s buyer support, and we will coordinate where needed.

Processing & timing

We aim to review refund requests within 5 business days. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it can take an additional 5–10 business days for the funds to appear. Refunds are made in the original currency of the transaction.

Chargebacks

If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us first — we can usually resolve it faster than a bank dispute. Initiating a chargeback without contacting us may result in the associated server’s access being suspended until the dispute is resolved. We reserve the right to contest chargebacks we believe are unwarranted.

Price changes

We may change plan prices over time. Price changes never apply retroactively to a period you have already paid for. If a price changes, the new price applies from your next renewal, and we will give reasonable advance notice where required.
